In Memory of Late RMFR Residents

Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue (RMFR) is a no kill shelter that takes in medically complex cases on a case by case basis, based on our current resources. Unfortunately not all stories have happy endings and sometimes the kitties pass in our care. This page is to honor and remember our late RMFR residents who have crossed the rainbow bridge.

Nyima

3/10/25

Nyima was transferred to us from Texas and adopted to a wonderful family. Unfortunately he fell very ill shortly after adoption and returned to us for monitoring and treatment. He fought an unknown illness for many months through many ups and downs. We did every test under the sun and provided supportive care. Unfortunately his body couldn't take the fight anymore. We will miss him dearly.

Sally

11/7/24

Sally was transferred from Texas and placed in foster. Unfortunately her health began to decline and we found cancer. She spent her last months in fospice, soaking up all the love, sun bathing on the patio, and eating all the food she wanted. Rest easy sweet girl!

Ziggy

10/3/24

Ziggy came all the way from Honduras, she was the chillest and sweetest little kitty. She sadly had a severe heart murmur and went to foster to spend her last month surrounded by love. She had an amazing last month and we will miss her forever and always! Forever our stinkiest girl. <3

Daisy

7/26/24

Daisy was the smallest but mightiest fighter! She was the runt and a failure to thrive kitten. We tried months of intensive supportive treatment and overnight observations. Unfortunately her body couldn't fight any longer.

We miss our spunky little Daisy so much and hope she is now pain free.

Penny

2/24/25

Penny was brought to us after being dumped in the woods. Shortly after her arrival we found a large tumor on her lung.

She was SO sweet and graced everyone with loud purrs and demands for pets. After a few weeks being our office manager her breathing started worsening and we made the decision to humanely euthanize her. She passed peacefully in her favorite bed in the sun. <3

Mittens

12/9/24

Mittens was transferred from Denver Animal Shelter after being at risk of euthanasia. He was a wonderful boy who loved to chat and loudly meow for pets, he was the sweetest!

He spent a few weeks here before his health took a turn for the worst. We did everything we could but unfortunately he passed. We made sure his last weeks were filled with love and all the food he wanted!

Robert

10/26/24

Robert was our FIV+ office manager, he enjoyed stealing chairs, decorating everything in the office with his snot, loving on staff, and keeping us in line. He had the silliest attitude and made the office his kingdom.

He was an older man and unfortunately suddenly passed. We will miss him dearly, rest easy grumpy man. <3

Indie

9/30/24

Indie was surrendered to us partially paralyzed and semi incontinent. He was the sweetest boy and always welcomed new shy Library kitties with open arms. Unfortunately one day he rapidly declined in health.

He had the most beautiful eyes and we miss our sweet handsome man so so much. We hope he is running around pain free and full of love!

Pepper

9/5/24

Pepper wasn’t with us for long but she made an impact in our hearts that we’ll carry forever. This sweet girl had FeLV, a disease that is terminal, some kitties live longer than others and unfortunately Pepper wasn’t one of them. We will miss our sweet, loving, fluffy ball of love forever and always!

Jeb

9/6/23

Jeb was the sweetest old man and incredibly loved by everyone who met him. He was the chillest cat and loved to lounge around, hang in the catio, and get pets.

He passed very suddenly, surrounded by staff in the sun, with enough love for millions of life times. We miss our handsome Jeb forever and always. <3
